Boonsboro Veterinary Hospital was started in 1990 by Dr. and Mrs. Richard Garcia. The facility was completed and opened for service June 1, 1990.

Doctor Richard Garcia is a native of Denver, Colorado. He was in the Air Force/NATO/Supreme Allied Command serving for 11 years in both Belgium and in Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. He subsequently returned to school and graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 from Colorado State School for Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Garcia and his wife, Sandra moved to Maryland after graduation and Dr. Garcia opened a mixed animal practice in Frederick, Maryland. Dr. Garcia and Sandra Garcia opened Boonsboro Veterinary Hospital in June of 1990.
Sandra Garcia grew up in both Indiana and Virginia and it was her love of the beautiful area that brought her back to Maryland. Sandra graduated from Indiana University and did post graduate work in Zoology at American University and George Mason University. She also does veterinary technician and reception work at the hospital as needed.
Vanessa is both a technician and receptionist. She is the youngest daughter of the four daughters of the Garcia’s. Vanessa is a graduate of Shepherd College. She grew up with dad in Veterinary school and her youngest experiences were riding around in the veterinary truck every day after school. She is well versed in both large and small animal care. Vanessa is the proud owner of 2 Chihuahua, "PocaBeans” and "Coconut" and Mountain Cur, "Roux".
Krystyan is a native to Balitmore and now lives in Keedysville. She has been in the vet field for several years, starting as a Tech Assistant, went to being a technician and now works as our Reception. She has 2 dogs; Apollo a Pitt mix and Lola a American Bully mix. She also has 3 cats; Brianna, Blake & Angel and helps on her family's dairy farm. Her love for animals and their well-being has brought her to the Veterinary world and looks forward to helping your furry friends.
Kim brings over 15 years' experience in the veterinary field. She grew up on farm in Baltimore County and has always had a love for animals, of all kinds. Her special interest is in geriatric medicine and shares her home with several special (geriatric) cats, one spoiled dog, two retired racehorses and one lead pony.
Holly has been in the animal industry since childhood. Starting with working on her grandparents' farm in Minnesota, to working for the local Humane Society and now working with your furry pals. Holly has traveled the word and has rooted down in Hagerstown. She has several animals: 'Sophia' Red tailed boa, 2 cats 'pogo' and 'ghost' and 3 dogs 'Zuma', 'Cyrus' and 'Lonnie'
Chad is a native of Berkley County and currently lives in Clear Spring. He has been in the Veterinary field for almost 8 years. After going to college for his bachelor's degree in Large Animal Science, he has been working at several other Verterinary offices as a technician. He is very active in his community and helps drive horses in the Tri-State wagon train. He has 1 dog; Rugger and several horse
